The Kamakura release is anticipated to be a dot release that is backward compatible with all EdgeX 2.x releases.  The release is not anticipated to be an LTS release.

Major additions planned for this release include:

  • Improved security secrets seeding and allowing for delayed service starts

  • Initial North to south message bus

  • Metrics collection

  • Dynamic device profiles (changes to device profiles)

  • Better (native) Windows support

  • Improve testing (including first real hardware testing)

  • V2 of the CLI
