Project Information

The main target of the project is to make sure the EdgeX Foundry platform can serve IIoT needs of the Oil&Gas industry.

This target is achieved pursuing the following activities:

1. Perform gap analysis and deliver specific market requirements to other Working Groups

   • Prioritize additional Device Services or suggest improvements to existing ones

   • Specific requirements on Support Services

   • Specific requirements for System Management and Security

   • Specific requirements on Export Services

   • Specific requirements on Core Services
     
     

2. Create Reference Architecture for specific use cases

   • Single Asset (Standalone Equipment, Well Intervention Unit, Artificial Lift System)

   • On-Shore Facility (Land Rig / Production Facility)

   • Off-Shore Facility (Offshore Rig / Offshore Production Facility)
     
     

3. Develop unique source code

   • Export Service to OSIsoft PI

   • Export Service to InfluxDB

    

4. Liaison with appropriate SDOs and Consortia

   • Society of Petroleum Engineers

   • Universities
